Older Group 10-day Trip
Appalachian Trail expedition, Green Cove, Climbing & Chattooga River Whitewater action + Service project.
Ages 14-18 yrs
Dates: June 15th – 24th, 2017
This is a multi-element trip starting off with one of the Appalachian Trail’s sweetest sections – the Roan mountain high country to the Nolichucky river. Next we go to our favorite place, Green Cove, where we’ll base out of for climbing and an exhilarating decent down the Chattooga River – a wild and scenic designated river – an amazing whitewater adventure. The trip will finish up with a service project.
Girls TAASC Leadership program (June 19 & 20)
This is a 2 day program and we encourage students to attend both days as the first builds up to the second. If you can only make one of the days, that’s fine too.
Day 1, June 19th – we will be enjoying some sweet lake swimming at one of the finest lakes in our area – Fawn Lake in Dupont. After a short hike in we will participate in some team building, talk about water safety, and do some swimming (PFD’s required). Please send $5 for ice cream at Dolly’s afterwards. (9 am – 3 pm)
Day 2, June 20th – we will head out for a day of rafting. Our raft guides (also Taasc parents) are exceptional boaters and trained white water rescuers. We will learn about reading the river and staying safe on a river that is just right for our girls. Our guides will determine exactly which river we will run based on water level, etc. (9 am – 3 pm)
Girls Ages 6 – 12
Tuition is $120 for both days (day 1 – $50 and day 2 – $70)
Younger Group & Girls TAASC 5-day Trip
New River Paddling Adventure & Service project
Undoubtedly one of our favorite river expeditions. This section of the New River should be on your bucket list – beautiful scenery, amazing state park camping, great water quality and best of all it’s in a cool climate!
This trip is the younger group combined with the Girls program.
Ages 8-14 yrs
Dates: August 7th – 11th, 2017
We load up our canoes and paddle. It’s one of the best ways to travel. We’ll be covering around 50 miles including sections of class 2 rapids. This is a great expedition for all ages and younger kids can be successful without the stress of carrying a heavy load. Lots of fun, swimming, playing and also challenging ourselves. We’ll do a service project with the Allegheny state park on our way.
