Congratulations to all the younger students this past weekend!
The younger group completed their first long distance backpacking trip through the beautiful East Prong Wilderness area. Weather was perfect during the day and at night got down into the 20’s. We even went bush-pushing through thick rhododendron forests to find a 150 ft waterfall.
It’s always inspiring to see what young people can do when they put their minds to it. Some, as young as 9, where carrying full packs, navigating which trails to take and helping look after their fellow group members.
Besides all the fun we have on TAASC there’s always a lot of work to do too and everyone did their chores: setting up camp, cooking, cleaning up, packing up etc etc… maybe some of these efforts can transfer back to home life…? (wouldn’t that be great).
Congrats to Sam, Yona and Ann Caton for jumping in for their very first TAASC trip ever! That’s an impressive way to start out you three.
Pictures are all posted here on Facebook – please check them out and “like” TAASC if you haven’t already.
