Aspens Canoe Expedition
June 15 – 19: Lake Jocassee Canoe & Service Trip (5 Days)
A five-day adventure that blends wilderness travel, community, and purpose—plus plenty of campfire goodness and time to simply enjoy being outside together. After last year’s Sierra experience, this trip is designed to be a more relaxing, restorative expedition while still offering meaningful challenge, growth, and connection.
We’ll spend four days canoeing the crystal-clear waters of Lake Jocassee in South Carolina. We will sleep at Devils Fork State Park boat in only sites. And enjoy lake front camping. Our days will include exploring the lake’s hidden coves, quiet inlets, and waterfalls. There will be plenty of time for swimming and mastering our canoe strokes. For those who want it, there will be an optional solo experience—a guided, safe opportunity to spend quiet time alone in nature for reflection, journaling, and resetting.
On Day 5, we’ll shift our focus from exploration to impact with an all-day service project in Brevard, NC. It’s a meaningful way to give back, strengthen community connection, and put our values into action as we close out the week.
Coyotes Backpacking Expedition
June 15 – 19:
This is an exciting and special 5-day expedition through one of the most beautiful places – Grayson Highlands. It’s higher elevation keeps things cool and we often travel under big open skies as only a couple of spots have full forest, which makes it unique. Hopefully we’ll get to see ponies as well, which are always a highlight. This will be a perfect trip for these Coyotes and is right at their level. We’ll summit Mt Rogers which is the tallest peak in this area, meet lots of adventurous through hikers on the AT and get into the flow of a multi-day expedition.
Oaks 5-Day Adventure Camp
June 22 – 26:
This is a really fun and diverse camp experience as we’ll be going out each day on a unique adventure and then returning home each evening. The Camp will go from 8.30 am – 5.00 pm each day. This camp will include activities like canoeing on Lake James, swimming, climbing, hiking and exploring as well as other skill opportunities like shelter and fire building, navigation, wilderness first aid and more. It’s a great week to be part of! We have found that students that have attended this camp show increased skill levels in most activities – especially canoeing!
Foxes & Wolves 5-day Adventure Camp
June 22 – 26
The program is running simultaneously as the Oaks girls camp above, with the same structure and timing. The Camp will go from 8.30 am – 5.00 pm each day. The boys will also be out experiencing different adventures every day like: Canoeing, swimming, climbing, fun diverse day hikes to explore and possibly swim some more, plus others. This is a great experience for these guys and it’s all a lot of fun! The boys usually return home ready to sleep!
Dogwoods Canoeing Expedition
June 29 – July 3
This 5-day adventure is a nice change from our past few summer backpacking expeditions. Being on the water and travelling in canoes is amazing and one of the most ancient ways people have travelled. Overall it will be a perfect change in environment and the overall experience is well deserved!
The Dogwoods will be fully exploring Lake Jocassee. This is a really unique and beautiful place with crystal clear water – it’s perfect for paddling and exploring. This will be the first time TAASC gets out here for a summer trip. We will camp at Devils Fork State Park ‘paddle in only’ campsites. And enjoy lake front camping – premier living! There are cool waterfalls that cascade down into the lake which we can explore and potentially paddle behind. We do have a mission to make it to the northern most point, so our expedition will fully cross the lake. Everyone will return as a maestro paddler that’s for sure!
Redwood Girls Backpacking Expedition

This is an exciting and special 5-day expedition through one of the most beautiful places – Grayson Highlands.
